Bernard Buffet Rare Original Oil Painting Hand Signed Dated 1968 Framed

BERNARD BUFFET – ORIGINAL OIL ON CARD – Jerusalem and Girl This is an exceptional investment opportunity to acquire an extraordinary and rare Bernard Buffet work of art. Oil onto heavy, wove card, the painting measures approx: 67cm x 83cm in the frame. Unframed it is approx 46cm x 54cm. This is a fantastic and absorbing, classical work of art. The brush work is very much in Buffet’s style of the period. The subject matter is that of a seated girl/woman by a wall with what looks to be stigmata to her hand/s. Her face/expression is particularly haunting and it is this aspect that gives the painting its special feel and presence. Please note: This is an ORIGINAL work of art; Monogrammed B B at the top right and dated ’68. It is certainly a magnificent and arresting piece. The painting has sustained some wear and there are cracks and creases to the surface. To protect the painting and to present it in the manner it deserves, it has recently been professionally framed on quality mat, behind glass, to a high standard. Prior to this photographs were taken of the painting so prospective buyers could see the condition before it was framed. To sum up: A truly terrific ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING. The compositional skills of the artist are wonderfully exemplified in the terrific depth and complexity exemplified in this unique and original work of art. Enhanced images are available on the Eagle Fine Art website. Bernard Buffet 1928 – 1999 French painter, etcher, lithographer, designer and occasional sculptor. Born in Paris.
